US Open Tennis 2010 Results and Schedules: Federer vs Djokovic on Semifinals – Even the heavy rains that occurred in Flushing Meadows could not stop the popular player and prince of tennis to lead his way to the US Open Tennis 2010 Championship.

This is because the five-time Champion Roger Federed got his sure ticket to the semifinals after winning and beating the 5^th seeded Robin Soderling

Roger Federer fired down 18 aces and connected with 64 percent of five serves and hit 36 winners as he defeated Soderling 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 just to ge his slot to a semifinals showdown with another popular tennis player Novak Djokovic.

“I’ve practiced my serve a whole lot my whole career. If I can’t serve in the wind I’ve got a problem. You can wake me up at 2 or 4 in the morning I can still hit serves.”, Federer added in an interview after the game.

Apparently, Soderling was so affected with what happened in the quarterfinals match with Federer.  “I didn’t put so many first serves in because of the wind,” said Soderling, who connected on 57 per cent of first serves. “He served really good. He was brushing the lines at times, which is not easy in weather like this. He served much better than me.

“He’s a good wind player,” Soderling said. “He moves well. He’s always in the right places.”

The 16-time Grand slam winner already displayed a total game fighting to win the ticket to the semfinals match with Djokovic. Federer did not allowed two-time French Open runner-up to raise any kind of hindrances in the court.

Meanwhile, Djokovic assured his ticket into the semifinals of the U.S. Open with an outstanding 7-6 (2), 6-1, 6-2 performance against 17th-seeded Gael Monfils of France.

“It might be the case that (I’ve) developed,” said the 2008 Australian Open winner Djokovic. “Over time, you get experience playing in the different conditions, different situations.”
