Ultimate Fighting Championship makes its Boston debut at the TD Garden on Saturday with UFC 118. The main event features a UFC lightweight championship rematch between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn. Edgar defends his title against the man he beat win the crown.
The co-main event is intriguing with what fight fans see as a boxing versus mixed martial arts bout. Heavyweight boxing champion James Toney makes his UFC debut against no less than UFC legend Randy Couture. Toney has done a lot of trash talking that reminds us of how Chael Sonnen hyped his UFC middleweight championship match against champion Anderson Silva. What remains to be seen is if Toney can back up all his talk by beating 5-time champion Couture.
Another interesting match worth watching is the lightweight bout between Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard. The winner of the Florian-Maynard match could become the next lightweight championship contender.
