UFC 127 Fight Card Play-by-Play and UFC 127 Fight Card Live Results - This is the moment we have waited for, the UFC 127 is about to begine few hours from now. This will be considered as the much awaited event before the month of February ends. The Ultimate Fighting Championship proudly presents the UFC 127. The UFC 127 fighter weigh-ins are set to take place today and that is tomorrow in Australia so better check back to catch the live video stream of the spectacle on the said start date.
The UFC 127 weigh-ins for the latest MMA Pay-Per-View took place in Australia on Friday. BJ Penn vs Jon Fitch continues to be the main attraction on the latest mixed martial arts card, and both fighters made weight. Meanwhile, today’s event is set to go down at Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, and begin at 10 p.m. ET. A Q&A session with Kenny Florian is also set to air at 8 p.m. ET.
Both Fitch and Penn made weight, with Fitch at 170lbs and Penn at 167lbs. After the weigh-ins they stared at one another nose-to-nose for the photo opportunities. Fitch said of this big match, “I’m pumped to be fighting B.J. Penn, he’s a legend, I respect him, but I’ve got to beat him. He has what I want.” Meanwhile, his opponent, BJ Penn, said he would do all his talking in the ring. This could be quite an intense battle during tonight’s big Pay-Per-View event.
Penn nearly walked away from the sport before righting his career last November at UFC 123, moving back up to welterweight against Matt Hughes — and embarrassing the former champion with a stoppage in 21 seconds. Penn has since trained for a short stretch with Hughes, who prepared him for Fitch’s grinding, position-based ground game.
“I know he isn’t exactly like Fitch as far as height and boxing and kickboxing goes,” Penn said. “But on the one area where Fitch definitely pushes all his opponents — grinding them out and pushing them on the fence and taking them down — Matt really pushed me in those areas, so I gained a lot of confidence working out with Matt.”
Fitch has won five straight fights since losing to St. Pierre at UFC 87, but he seemingly hasn’t gained many fans in the process. His past eight fights have gone to decisions, and many MMA enthusiasts just don’t get excited about watching Fitch pin an opponent to the ground.
Fitch is favored by most prognosticators in the octagon at Sydney’s Acer Arena on Saturday, but don’t be surprised if the Australian crowd is solidly behind Penn. Fitch (26-3) is among the world’s most dominant mixed martial artists, but his smothering, ground-based style hasn’t yet earned him many fans, or a second UFC title shot.
