Feud Between Zuffa And Golden Glory Results To Release Of Fighters thumbnail

The ongoing feud between Zuffa and Golden Glory is getting worse. Just days after news on the release of then Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem came about, UFC and Strikeforce owner Zuffa released former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Marloes Coenen, Valentin Overeem and Jon Olav Einemo from their contracts.

Alistair Overeem was the first fighter from the Golden Glory stable who was released for pulling out of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals. The heavyweight champion cited that he needed more time to recover from nagging injuries. There are speculations that Team Golden Glory was asking for contract terms including Overeem moving to the UFC that Zuffa finds unacceptable.
